Mind, body and soul. This phrase has come to mind many times lately. Wanting to do something for them at least once a week — as part of caring better for myself. My yoga classes restart in a few weeks (will I return to a regular practice on my own?), I am reading a little bit nearly every night, I feel like I am slowly reconnecting in some very deep ways with myself and my partner. But there’s something else, especially for the body, this body, my body, the one under 4 layers to ward off the winter chill.
As a rule, the mind, residing in a body that has become weakened by pampering, is also weak, and where there is no strength of mind there can be no strength of soul.
So, two weeks and some on from Midwinter’s Day, what are you doing to nurture your mind, body and soul?
I would like to start biking — a good start would be hauling my bike in to the shop to attach the baby seat and for a service since I haven’t ridden since I was 7 months pregnant. And I would like to start orienteering — not that I am ever lost, I always know where I am (right here!), but for something different and something fun for the whole family. This idea of connection, and in some cases reconnection, is important and crucial for the life that I enjoy. Each day needs to be cherished and enjoyed.
Who’s with me? What are your priorities for your life? Let’s encourage each other on our journey!
